Hello There!
The baritone saxophone has been my main instrument since the mid-1960s, although I also play the other saxophones and clarinet.
I retired from the Leeds College of Music in 2002. where I was Director of Resources.
The College was a pioneer of the formal teaching of Jazz.
Retirement means that I can play more, which I now do with many different local bands. Until recently, I was a regular member of Martin Bennett's Old Green River Band, and extensively toured the UK and Europe.
I live in Yorkshire with my wife, and have two daughters and two grand-children, all living nearby. My son-in-law is into genealogy and has his own website here.
I maintain the following interests and would welcome links with anyone interested in discussing any of them - Home Town: Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
Interests: playing and listening to jazz and classical music; computing ( as far back as CP/M! Does anyone remember CP/M?); books & reading; walking and caravanning.
Likes: Pepper Adams; Gerry Mulligan; Serge Chaloff; Bob Gordon; Charlie Parker; Stan Getz; Frank Zappa; Steely Dan; T S Eliot; Anthony Burgess; Dylan and R S Thomas; computer music; arranging; digital photography.
Dislikes: waffley people; applied bureaucracy; lumpy custard (and sometimes gravy - but not Zappa's).
